Ugly Sweater Holiday Photo Shoot | Hannah

So I was planning my social media posts for the Christmas holiday that is just 4 short days away, and I remembered I had SO.MUCH.FUN with this ugly sweater photo session I did 2 years ago. And I literally posted like 1 online. I can’t believe I did that. We had so much fun and the images are so adorable I don’t know why I was keeping them to myself all this time. So Hannah graduated earlier this year, and is having a blast at Texas State, and we took these when she was still a junior.

Since the ugly sweater thing is trending hard, I thought, how fun would it be to plan a styled shoot around ugly holiday garb? I headed to Hobby Lobby to pick up all the crazy holiday wearables I could find.  Now remember since this was FOREVER ago, Target had yet to line their clothing racks with amazing tacky sweaters around the holidays. I was literally ahead of the tacky trend by about a year. I think we pretty well nailed the tacky feel and its still super cute #amiright?  And of course I had to stop for marshmallows, whipped cream and a giant bag of generic gift bows.

But Hannah being the adorable person she is, and she was dressed so cute under the tacky, I wanted to make sure we grabbed a few regular portraits as well. And can I just say, winter light is so completely different than summer light. It’s a little cooler, a little more diffused and just different. It compliments the leafless tress perfectly. It’s almost as if nature had photographers in mind when growing.

Well I hope it was worth waiting 2 years for these gems! I love them to pieces.
