Sunset Senior Portraits | Thalia | Timber Creek High School
There is nothing I love more than sunset senior portraits. The urban vibe is so fun, but there is something very simple and classic about a beautiful park, and a Texas sunset. I was so excited when Thalia said that was exactly what she wanted. Thalia plays the flute at Timber Creek, so we scheduled her session this past July before marching practice started in full force. If you don’t know much about band, the practice schedule is as intense as Football, and in Texas thats saying a lot.
We started her session at Beak Creek Park in Keller. If you are not familiar with Bear Creek, its ENORMOUS. We started at the far end near the baseball fields, and actually finished behind them. It was this secret little nook we found while roaming and it had the best golden light.
It was really important to Thalia to incorporate her flute in senior portraits. And if you have read anything on my blog, its so important to me not only to capture every clients beauty, but also their personality. Whether its cheerleading, band, drill team, drama, or other hobbies, I want to capture that. While the beauty is so fun for me, and I love to help build up a girls self esteem, I want her to embrace who she is, and what makes her unique. I didn’t want to do the traditional school portrait with her flute, thats boring and she probably has a drawer full of them at home. So we took a different approach.
And just for fun, I did a little compositing. This isn’t something I do very often, but sometimes an image just calls for a little more, and I think this was one of them. And a fun spin on her image.
I hope you enjoyed seeing these images as much as I enjoyed making them.
