Outdoor Fall Senior Session | Grapevine High School | Madison
I loved so many images from this outdoor fall senior session with Madison. I have to give major props to Madison because she was so amazing to work with, and really easy going. We had one plan and had to change it up completely last minute. Luckily it was just a specific location difference, and the look of the images was still exactly what we had planned, just not in the exact spot. And to top it off, there was literally no sunlight.
I first met Madison this past summer, she is a member of my model team. She knew from the very beginning that she wanted her session in the fall. If you know anything about Texas, fall is about 2 weeks here. Sometimes the weather hangs around longer, but the colors are gone just about the time you realize they appeared. Our original plan was Bear Creek Park in Grapevine, but hair and makeup was in Keller, and there just wasn’t quite enough time to drive to and from and have enough light. ESPECIALLY considering the sun never once made and appearance. I choose Bear Creek in Keller (strange the parks have the same name right?) because not only is it my favorite spot locally, it had all the elements Madison was looking for. We specifically talked about getting a beautiful shot in a creek.
The size of Bear Creek is quite large. We started down on one end, near the baseball fields, and finished on the other by Keller Pointe, with another stop on the way.
I love the end with the creek, and these were actually my favorite looks. We had the creek, the beautiful wooden staircase and the train shack underneath the tracks.
About the time we made it to the other end the light was fading fast. Overcast days make for wonderful light, but early sunsets. So I made sure I had an additional light source. My first choice is always natural light, its so beautiful and I know it well. But I love having the benefit of additional lighting no matter what the circumstances. In 95% of the images taken artificial light was used.
I am extremely proud of the results we achieved. Madison came prepared with the perfect outfits and we hit it out of the park. I am quite sure you will agree.
And yes the above shots were created with a flash set up off camera to the right.
Thanks for stopping by!
